Kendrick Lamar is bold brave and filled with social conscience and with messages delivered in a modern creative perspective.
If you haven't listened to Kenrick Lamar, give him an ear.
This is portrait painting was completed together with Moises Frank portrait. These two people to speak to me with the same conviction and intensity in their art.
The treated wood panel transmits light via the Frenell principal. Part of the light is reflected, while the other portion of light is refracted into the material then diffracted and reflected back through the translucent paint.

Process: positioning.
I use the wood grain to echo the contours of the face where posible.
Process: detailing.
After the first base positioning, I take a picture of the piece and use digital adjustment to play around with how I am going to empasize each area and facial feature.
